Menlo Park / 2024

Hidden amid tree canopies in Menlo Park, this office for a private investment firm is alive with the blinking lights and lit-up displays of discarded analog relics. Transformed from a conventional office set-up, the space supports the everyday rhythms of the firm's small team with interactive details steeped in the spirit of creative reuse and nostalgia for a not-so-distant past.

In the main gathering space, a large utilitarian table is an invitation for informal collaboration. Shelves are lined with books alongside an archive of decades-old amplifiers and switchboards, while the opposite wall is faced with industrial machine guard panels and historic maps of Palo Alto.

A podcast studio is outfitted with acoustic panels and floor-to-ceiling drapes for both privacy and soundproofing. In the executive office, a glossy custom wall treatment made from repurposed household materials is a nod to streamlined space-age finishes.

A vintage marble table anchors the conference room, where overflow seating takes the form of an open bench outfitted with CRT TVs looping found video footage. In this multi-functional space in the heart of Silicon Valley, a sense of play is always present.
